Does Audi care maintenance plan cover oil fill-up before my next service date?
My 09A4 has done about 13000 miles and the computer shows low oil level. Should I just buy engine oil and re-fill myself or take to Audi service to fill it up provided this oil fill up is covered under the Audi care plan?
If I've to buy the oil myself, should I look for any specific oil type (I know I should use a synthetic and something like 40w or so)...

Just drop by the dealership, they'll put a quart in, no charge. I had same thing happen. I didn't even have to make an appointment, they told me to just swing by. So I pull up, go see my service advisor, he goes in the back, grabs a quart, pops the hood, pours it in, and that's it. I believe we have Castrol in our cars. That's what he grabbed and he said that's what Audi uses.

You must use oil that meets VW 502 specification. Most oils do not. I prefer Mobil 1 0W-40. It can be used in my other cars, and has a slightly better specification (in USA) than the Castrol product.
Make sure the VW spec is shown on the bottle. If it is not there, it should not be used in your car.
