The offset of the S5 wheels and A4 are quite different. 255/35/19 is a genuine factory tire size for both cars, but your wheels were not intended for the A4, so they're sticking out a bit more than they should. They probably look awesome but as you've found, there is a chance they'll rub, especially when carrying a heavy load and/or if lowered.
And this too has nothing to do with the OP's question, but I guess that's par for the course, right?![Wink](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

I don't have the answer but before changing to a staggered setup I would consider if and how it will affect the car (handling and the control of the Haldex system) and not only consider the looks.

I don't believe you can go to a staggered set up on an AWD car. You can usually never get the tire circumference to be the same. So if you want to go wider then you'll need to do all 4 .

[QUOTE=mhender;23852094]Hi all, apologies if this has been covered, but I tried searching to no avail.
As I wait for my car (hopefully this week) to be delivered (
)
I'm planning ahead--I have a set of tires (235 50 18) that are brand new on my aftermarket wheels. I would like to put these wheels on my new 2.0 quattro, but I'm going to assume these tires are too big...(FWIW: I know the sport package has 18" wheels wrapped in 245/40 tires...)
Are these tires going to rub against the fender? Or will they simply give inaccurate speedo readings...those I can live with...rubbing, not so much![Stick Out Tongue](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
thanks!
2007 Audi S4 Tire upgrade....
Hi just want to ask if its safe and can fit inside the fender of my cars mentioned above original tire size is 235/40/18. I wanted to make my ride a little bit on comfortable side so i wanted to increse the wide and ht. So im planning to change them to 245/45/18. I want from you guys to know if its fine. Thanks
