Metal Fuel Flap Fell Inside Tank

I have a 2010 A4 and I was filling up with gas with a portable gas can. I ended up jamming the nozzle from the gas can too far into the fuel line because the nozzle got stuck and when I pulled it out, I noticed that the metal fuel flap was gone. It had to have fallen inside the fuel line.
I stuck a 20" magnet inside the fuel line to try to retrieve it, however, those fuel flaps aren't too magnetic. Unless I borescope the fuel line, I have to assume that the metal flap made its way into the tank.
My question is, do you guys believe this will be an issue? I'd imagine that the fuel filter will eventually catch it, but is the pump and in line pump or does it just sit in the tank? I would not be too worried if it just sat in the tank, but if it is an in line pump, I'm worried that the flap will clog the line and the Audi will be starved of fuel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
