Default Mirror Whistle - only me?

My driver's side view mirror whistles terribly over 50mph. I searched the forum and didn't see anyone else complain about this. Am I the only one??? It's driving me crazy!

I hear a whistle sometimes too but I can't figure out where its coming from. I think I've gotten used to it.

I have a 2010 and I have heard the whistle. Never thought it was the mirror.

I have one of the very first U.S. 2009's and never heard any noise coming from the mirrors (or any other unwanted location for that matter). I've got to believe if this was a normal occurrence, it would have been discovered during the extensive wind tunnel tests during design.

You may want the dealer to check to see if some air is finding its way through a defective seam joint or some such. A mirror replacement would solve that.

I had noticed that on the demo car during my testdrive back in April 09. My car (got it in May 09) doesn't seem to have it that bad. I can hear it but it's not "incredibly annoying".

Look at the size of those things though.. what did you expect from Mickey Mouse mirrors? silence?

Lol, just got back from Disney - they are definitely Mickey Mouse mirrors.

If I gently touch the front, leading edge of the mirror, the whistle goes completely away. Nothing from the passenger side. I think this means I need to make a trip to the dealer.

OMG YES! finally someone else... i'm not crazy.

I had passengers and they all said that cannot hear it. I think it comes from the mirror, more specifically the area between the window and the mirror and it also happens more often\audible when it's cold.

actually in my case it's not really related to temperature, it's mostly based on my speed and it indeed seem to be between the mirror and window but I believe it's due to the air hitting the mirror and getting displaced towards the window.
