That looks more like wiring issues. Maybe why it's coming and going. But all six speakers open circuit? Probably a plug issue. Try reseating the plug to the unit.
I'm not sure what to make of it. Not surprised the dealership didn't mention it; they can bill you again to have to hook it back up again to look at it. Something the dealership would have to review with the software management tools they have. I don't know what the freeze frame data is trying to say. What happened at 2:17pm on Nov 5 (last Friday)? They would have to explain it.
$225 to do CP? That's a hell of a rip. Is that one hour labor, or did they charge more than that? Charging more than one hour labor for server work is bs.
I'd say that nav data is ancient too, appears to be original. But you can't just pop in a new data disc and go on. MMI 3G made it a cluster f of stuff to update it. There's resources out there on updating MMI 3G firmware and navigation data. But if you just use your phone all the time, ....
2:17pm on Nov 5 Is when they removed the component protection and tested all systems before handing it back to me. $225 was one hour of labor but since this DTC came about when it was at the dealer I assume it’s related to the radio and whatever they did.
Yeah, I'd be calling them up and asking them why that's there then. You could clear codes and see if it comes back. If everything is working regarding the system (it's not related to your radio audio issue, imo), you could leave it be. $225 for one hour, wow.
I have cleared codes but they immediately reappear. Doesn’t seem to be an electrical connection issue - those plugs are all pretty well designed to eliminate that issue and I reseated everything again.
Dealer said the minimum charge is 1hr and that’s their rate. I suppose I’ll have to hope this outdated software DTC resonates with them because I’m expecting them to just point to the radio tuner as the source since the didn’t install it. I can’t leave it as - it only works 50% of the time…
Yeah, I'd push on them about the DTC they left behind for the work you've already paid them. Basically a warranty call imo.
But the speaker DTCs, they seem direct, open circuit. But if I go back to your first post to the thread, you said you have B&O. So that doesn't use the amps in the radio. You shouldn't be getting DTCs about speakers from address 56. The B&O always uses the outboard J525, at address 47 ("sound system"). The big finned object on top of the stack with the 32-pin (and 18-pin, and maybe optical) plug. Did you record the coding for address 56 (radio) before and after; is the new radio unit coded to the same as previously?
Here's a NAR B8.5 with 5F (MMI), 56 (radio), and 47 (sound system). By having J794 and the J525, we know it's a B&O sound system instead of the standard sound system - https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/21275/
Code:
Address 47: Sound System (J525) Labels:. 8T0-035-223-BOM.clb
Part No SW: 8T1 035 223 A HW: 8T1 035 223 A
Component: DSP Prem H05 0030
Address 56: Radio (R) Labels: Redir Fail!
Part No SW: 4G0 035 082 G HW: 4G0 035 082
Component: Radio U SIRIU H66 0133
Revision: AB001007 Serial number: 156I50F8316972
Coding: 020007010000000001
And here's a NAR B8.5 with 5F and 56 only. So no J525, meaning only standard sound system.
Code:
Address 56: Radio (R) Labels: Redir Fail!
Part No SW: 4G0 035 082 G HW: 4G0 035 082
Component: Radio U SIRIU H66 0133
Revision: AB001007 Serial number: 156C.0F8236327
Coding: 020007020100000101
Notice the coding is slightly different. I don't have a B8.5 radio to look at, my B8.0 radio has a very small coding value (0000002). So I can't look at long coding helper to see what those two value positions might represent. The coding on your radio is:
Coding: 020007020100000001
So looks more like the radio coding for standard sound system than the radio coding for B&O sound system. Why the dealership would not have put the coding back to original spec, I don't know. If you have a log from before all this event, check what your radio coding was.
