Nav update

I have a 2014 A4. The nav system does not recognize a new highway that has been in place since 2012. Any way I can update the nav system? Dealer says it costs $600, which I find hard to believe.

I don't know how, but I would try to confirm that the update includes the new highway before spending. In addition to surprisingly high prices for the map data (also true for DVD-based systems) Audi has invented a slow two step process to update HDD-based systems in order to avoid pirate copies.
I haven't done it myself (yet) but I think that most of the time spent in the shop for the update is just waiting for the data to be transferred from SD-card to the HDD.
Then the car has to be connected to an Audi server to validate the license key.

Supposedly a new version of the maps for 2014-15 will come out in January. I am in same boat with the 2012-13 version of maps in my new to me 2012 A4. Was told $250 for update and about $150-$200 for "labor".
I am awaiting the update to also see if a highway interchange is on it before I shell out my money on it.

If your MMI is 3G High, the current software version is "HNav_US_K0133_3_D1" (available HERE).

help me understand how a 10plus gig map is only 317mb compressed? plus it says it was added in 2019? It doesn't seem to be at the link you stated. I see there is a ton of archive files but I have downloaded a map and it took a few hours not minutes to download. So what is this or what am I doing wrong?

@CICIRO The link in post #9 is for the MMI software update. The navigation database update is a separate process (generally 10+ GB compressed). The a5oc.com forum HERE has good information on recent MMI nav updates for EU and US. It also helps to know which MMI generation is in your car (3G Basic, 3G High, 3G Plus) before proceeding. Applying the wrong software update to your MMI system can leave it an unusable (bricked) state.
