For me, there is a significant difference between the Avant and Sedan in terms of utility (we own a sedan and avant), so I would think you would want to think long and hard about whether you need/prefer the wagon over the sedan.

In terms of drivability- I have owned 2 A4 avants (2002 and 2006) and now own a 2011 A4 sedan. I have found the performance improvement, ie acceration and fuel economy, has improved with each model.

If it were me, I would chose the 2011 A4 sedan in a heart beat over a 2 year old A6 sedan. But if it is a wagon you want, look for 2 year old A4 wagon instead of a new one.

Good Luck- let us know what you decide.

That's funny, because in my Brilliant Red I think it is awesome. I would have taken the gray if was offered with red exterior, but there was no way I wanted black.

As far as loathing options, it's the exact opposite for me.

I'm absolutely giddy about the side assist on my prestige avant. I'll never be able to live w/o it on my next audi.

It's a huge plus not to have to always crank your neck to the side & see if a car is in your blindspot. Especially on busy 4 lane highways & at night.

I wouldn't go without the backup camera and the blind spot detection -- in fact, they should be as mandatory as seat belts, airbags, ABS and ESP, IMHO; and in most other areas I am NOT a fan of the electronic, mandated "nannies." Of course, I think all vehicles should be AWD, too.

My wife just got a new Infiniti FX -- it has all around view monitor and everything BUT blind spot detection. I have become a fan of my A4's blind spot alerting system. I miss it when I drive the Infiniti -- I feel, er, BLIND!

To each his/her own.

Drive it like YOU live.
