New Buyer Advice: 2013 F30 320i xDrive vs Audi A4 2.0T Quattro
Hi folks -
I'm a potential future Audi owner looking to replace my aging 01 E46 that is starting to show signs of rust and wear/tear. The two prime candidates in the running are the new F30 320i xDrive and the Audi A4 2.0T Quattro. I live up north so AWD is important to me.
I realize there will be inherent bias to ask this on an Audi forum, but I was hoping some members of this forum can lend their expertise to help me rationalize my decision. Mods - if this is in the wrong forum I apologize, if so please move it.
Detailed specs & pricing:
Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Premium $33400
Moonlight Blue Metallic +$475
Lighting Package +$1000
Destination Fee +$895
After Supplier Discount $34805
Final Total After Taxes/Dealership Fees $37,122
BMW 320i xDrive $34550
Mineral Grey Metallic +$550
Lighting Package +$900
Destination Fee +$895
Final Total After Taxes/Dealership Fees $37,905
Also, something I've been considering is that BMW offers the 50K mile ultimate service while Audi does not. Audi offers leather/moonroof standard while BMW does not and BMW offers Bluetooth standard which Audi doesn't. For BMW this is a brand new model while the A4 is already a mid-cycle refresh. So I'm at a loss really...can someone help me decide? Thanks!

One thing to consider on the Audi. Just about every Premium trim car on the lots here have the convenience package and heated seats added on. It is extremely rare to find a car without them since hardly anyone buys them.
Keep in mind that the 320 basically exists as a "lease special" trim to meet a price point. It comes with a de-tuned engine vs. the 328 and less power then the A4.
Personally I'd save a few more bucks and go for the next trim line up. The Premium Plus A4s add quite a bit over a Premium with all the options added on. BMW is likely similar with their package layouts from what I see, plus you get more power under the hood of the 328xi.

The 320 is supposed to have the same engine as the 328, just detuned. there might be an ecu modification later on to remedy that.
A stock A4 is something like 211 hp / 265 lb-ft torque.
A $700 APR tune makes it something like 240 hp, 330 lb-ft torque.
Overall, you'll have a more comfortable A4, with features that make it a better value.
Buy which ever you are comfortable with... I will say 180 hp is WEAK on the 320.. and if gas mileage matters, the A4 2.0T pretty much kicks anything else's butt at that level of luxury.
