A couple of concerns with different size front/back:
* Don't know if you have a quattro but on mine I wouldn't put different rolling circumference front/back, and that is harder to match with different width.
* This is my first AWD but I will stick to my habit of swapping front/rear wheels each year to even out the wear.
* The handbook says it is important to use the same type, size (rolling circumference) and preferably the same tread pattern

Your chosen size 235/35 19 gives a slightly small diameter than nominal so it will probably give you more + deviation on the speedometer. The difference from what I think is the nominal for this car is about 1.5% in addition to the nominal plus bias. (Though, the real circumference might deviate from just calculating the sidewall height as 35% of the width.)

Only downside, was the centrebore size - the supplier only had a v708 with the smaller 57.1 vs the required 66.6. They agreed to machine the wheels to fit 66.6 and assured me this is not uncommon. Unfortunately, OEM centrecaps won't fit - but I guess I'll be o.k. with that.
the audi center caps will fit! do a search for the audi part number in the forum, got mine from ebay, and they fit. when you get the center bore done that will not afect where the center cap goes.

Mine car actually came equiped with the wheels when I purchased it. I'm not sure if VMR makes them for Audi, but they are 19x9 according to the service department as I asked them and they looked up the information for me.

The 255 fit is spot on and sits flush with the end of the wheel. The 235 might have some rim showing. My C63 has a staggered 19x8 front and I run 235/35/19 and the tire is flush there, so it might be fine. If your worried about the 255's rubbing, the only way to know for sure is checking the offset of a factory wheel compaired to the ones your purchased. I know mine have no issues there.

Like Audi8k said, I wouldn't go with a staggered fitment on an A4, especially if you have Quattro.

But - having said that, my tire shop said that they were told the wheels coming in for me were 19 x 9. After we checked the VMR site, we both decided this must have been a an error and they meant 8.5.

Because I'm going with a 235 tire, I am a bit concerned that on a 9" wide wheel, the wheel might stick out too much beyond the tire. I agree that a 255 might be a better width for a wider wheel.

By the way, how does the 255 fit? Does is stick out beyond the wheel well on the front at all? I wonder if a 255 (rear) and 235 (front) might be a good combo.

NickZag thanks for the info - I agree and called Kal Tire to have them upgrade the 235/35/19 to the 255/35/19. I was able to confirm the 255 fitment with the tire guy at the Audi dealership as well.

When I spoke with Kal Tire (where I ordered the tires/wheels) it sounded to me like they based the original 235/35/19 recommendation on their books which only go up to B7 2008 fitments. When I mentioned that tire specs would have changed in 2009 with the B8, I think they understood.

Will know in a couple weeks.

255/35/19 is definitely the way to go for the B8's. Make sure to get some photos up once everything is set
