I'm going to start working on my own order soon... going to go with an Avant this time around. Can't decide on a color yet. I'd like to see them in person first. Also I'm waiting on Audi to un-copulate themselves on the wheel issue.
At this point I'm thinking Prestige with Nav, Sport Suspension, shades and possibly wood inserts depending on what color dash the beige interior is fitted with. I'm leery of ADS since it sounds very expensive to fix when it breaks (it's an Audi, so stuff is going to break) and I'm skeptical of how much I'd actually use it. Especially at $3K. Adaptive cruise might be in the mix provided it's substantially less ridiculous than ADS pricing, if not no biggie.

Ordered on 6/2: 3.2 Prestige, Ice Silver, black interior, wood, Nav, Drive Select. Passed on the Adaptive Cruise - something about my car hitting the brakes without me....hmmm. I wonder if the Side Assist shake feature in the Prestige pkg can be turned off. I like the ideal of the side assist lights but not sure I want the wheel shaking?
Tested the ADS at NH Speedway and noted a HUGE difference. Only possible regret so far was not ordering Sport Pkg - I think Dynamic mode is reasonably close to Sport so passed but I really like the sport seats. Ah well..
As for Nav, don't really need it as I have a couple of Garmin PND's but felt due to MOST integration (voice control, etc) and resale value, it would be worthwhile.
Told a couple of weeks ago the car was in production and will arrive to dealer end of August. I think I've got the price estimated now pretty closely so should be no real surprises. Except my '01 A6 2.7t trade. I know I'm going to get killed on that unless I sell it myself here in the Boston area, which I'm not especially excited about doing.

Most likely, B8 Avants will come with manual side sunshades only. At least, that's how it was with the B7, our sedan had rear power sunshade and manual side shades.

I realize it's a $3K hit but after driving it around the track in both modes (didn't get a chance to mix and match indiv settings), I'm convinced it really makes a big difference. It's almost like getting 2 cars for the price of 1 (for $3K). I also realize the risk of more to break but the car is so full of other tech stuff I'm not sure if this adds that much more overall exposure to failure. (Hope I don't eat my words a few years from now..)
I'd order ADS over adaptive cruise in a heartbeat....and did. Even at the price, I feel it's the coolest new technology of the new A4.

It does almost give you the sense of owning two cars in one. If you want to take a lesiurely drive, and you have passengers who want that soft ride, you have the car for it. But if you want to drive a bit more aggressively, you have the car for it with a press of a button.
I was really skeptical about this when I first read about it, but driving it made this one of those options I would get.

From what I have read only lane assist does that. Lane Assist help to keep you in the correct lane and if you wander out of that lane it "shakes" the wheel to alert you you are wondering. I don't believe "lane assist" is available as a USA option at this point.
Side assist warn you if a car is in your blind spot only when you turn on the turn indicator. The four led's in the side mirror give you a visual that you better not change lanes at this moment.
Hope I have this correct. Can anyone verify what I have said??
My .02 for what it is worth.

Picked a 3.2 with Prestige on the way at Herb Chambers. Jason is great there. Was just told mine will be here by end of Aug.
3.2 Deep Blue w/gray Prestige and nav
