Even if it's a family car, the sport suspension isn't too harsh. And it sure makes the car a lot more fun when the family isn't in the car..

Sure they can. Just make those options like bluetooth, homelink, auto dimming mirror w/compass available as dealer installed options as well just like Subaru does. On my 09 WRX premium, I wanted the auto dimming mirror, w/compass and homelink a few days after I purchased the car from the dealer. I went to parts paid my $126 and went home and installed it in 30 minutes.

Audi is the one that is making this difficult when it doesn't have to be. RNS-E wasn't even offered as an option for the B6 S4. However, I picked one up and the harnesses and installed it myself in an Audi parking lot in 20 minutes. Can you do that now? Not even.
