It would be a bit counterproductive anyway if you bought a quattro car for better traction.... unless the beater had quattro too. Just keep this in mind, my non-galvanized 1987 Audi 4000cs quattro survived northeastern winters without any perforating rust. Most of the ones I've seen from New England and NY are close to having rust cancer and over 200k on the clock, but modern cars have way better rust protection and fully galvanized bodies. After all, Audi was a pioneer in the field of rust protection.
