With the old style you could obviously only grab from below.

It should also reduce paint scratching around the door pulls and won't freeze over as easily as the older style.

grip style handles. In addition, the construction of this type are stronger. I have worked with plastic door handles for many years. The grip style are more robust than the paddle style. Poorly designed or manufactured paddle style handles have been known to break off in your hand. I don't know of any instances of this happening with Audi handles, but I still prefer a stronger grip. Matter of fact, I also prefer the textured black ones to the painted ones, as they don't scratch up, but that is not an option.

The flush style (current) or the new door handle style? With the new style, you are able to grab onto the ENTIRE handle with your hand giving you more leverage to yank the door open. You can wrap your entire hand around the handle vsiIf you had to grab onto the current door handle, you would only get 4 fingers underneath the handle and your thumb on the outside and pull upwards at an angle to yank the door open.
