That is what I was told by the sales rep from Osir USA via email.

I would replace the entire rear bumber with the S-line rear bumper, or replace the diffuser with the factory diffuser.

See these photos, how the factory diffuser looks like when it has been painted into body colour, with the black stripe between the bumper and the diffuser.

I have also ibis white A4 Avant and I will probably end up into factory diffuser. However, my plan is to paint it an opposite way, than what it is normally, the stripe would be painted in body colour and the diffuser itself would be glossy black.
Not feeling that black strip. It looks like a rubber gasket connecting the two sections. Or like black adhesive bubbling out. If something is going to be body colored, the whole thing should be (unless it's a grille). Black strips = cheap.

The black strip does definitely not look like a rubber gasket when it is painted gloss black. You should see this kind of car alive, the photos don't tell the whole thruth. Of course it is possible to paint the strip in whatever colour, for example:

another picture of the same car:

The rear diffuser is available in three types, where the diffuser itself comes primed, but the strip (blade) can be primed, carbon look or aluminium look. The three last characters in the part number tell the type as follows: (the "blade" means the strip):
... 9AX : All components primed (which means the blade is also primed and can be painted in whatever colour)
... 3Q0 : Blade with carbon look
... 3Q7 : Blade with aluminium look

In my opinion black strips or other body parts do not look cheap, when the parts are painted black. Black plastic without any paint looks cheap, that I agree.
If I would get the factory diffuser in my car, I would paint it gloss black with the body coloured (white) strip, which is vice versa that this is normally painted. I think this would look best at least with the white A4.
Having all the body parts painted in body colour is from last century ;-)

Has anyone fitted this diffuser on their car? I've been considering some upgrades and this was on my mind. I saw some CF mirrors on the OSIR website but no sale price or availability.

Hi, I would like to know what type of rims are on the A4 on the third pic of the first post. It would be a great help.

Buzz - Can you tell me if those part numbers you gave are for the factory diffuser from Audi? I like the look of the aluminum blade, and with my Brilliant Black car, I think it will really pop. I have also seen the front blade painted in aluminum as well, and think I will do that. My problem is I don't like the Audi-aftermarket front spoiler/blade combo. I'm looking at the Abt or Caractere versions:

Caractere:

Yes, they are Audi part numbers for factory diffuser. Note that these cannot be fitted onto S-line bumper.
Some part numbers below:

Rear diffuser : Blade with aluminium look
- 8K0 071 620A 3Q7 Exhausts on left (Sedan and Avant)
- 8K0 071 620B 3Q7 Exhausts on both sides (Sedan and Avant)
Rear diffuser : Blade with carbon look
- 8K0 071 620A 3Q0 Exhausts on left (Sedan and Avant)
- 8K0 071 620B 3Q0 Exhausts on both sides (Sedan and Avant)
Rear diffuser : All components primed, also the blade
- 8K0 071 620A 9AX Exhausts on left (Sedan and Avant)
- 8K0 071 620B 9AX Exhausts on both sides (Sedan and Avant)

Front spoiler : Blade with aluminium look
- 8K0 071 053 3Q7
Front spoiler : Blade with carbon look
- 8K0 071 053 3Q0
Front spoiler : All components primed, also the blade
- 8K0 071 053 9AX

Me personally don't like the look of Caractere and ABT versions of front bumper. I like more the OEM S-line bumper.

Alright, so as I am looking to replace my front spoiler and rear diffuser (thanks for the detail Buzz), my brand new A4, all shiny and clean, gets slammed from behind by some idiot who was TEXTING! The car has been in the body shop since last week, and I figure as long on as the rear end is being redone, I should take this opp to replace the rear diffuser. So I call Audi Mission Viejo with the above part numbers and the parts guy can't find anything. I actually had to send him the link to the Audi website along with pictures. Total joke, and he finally shows one part number, all primed. Either way, finally ordered it, should have the car back Tuesday with the new Audi diffuser. Still not certain if I should have the blade painted aluminum or leave it black like the rest of the car. Thoughts?

I'll post some picks when I pick it up. Fingers crossed.

I'd at least have it painted matte black so it doesn't completely blend in with the bumper.
