I just drove back to Arizona from Connecticut. During the last leg of the trip I was driving into Phoenix and driving spirited to say the least. I was in 6th gear (tiptronic) for most of the drive. I was rolling into the throttle on the highway when I start to her this screeching noise when the boost builds. I came to the light at the end of the highway, and when I pulled away it was still their. It sounds like a car with bad belts when it gets cold started... although I am pretty sure that the sound is coming from the turbo and not the belts. It was about 110 degrees outside. Can these turbos overheat from a little spirited driving when its really hot outside? Has anyone in Phoenix or the southwest that has had this problem?
