My wife finds the sport seats in my a5 uncomfortable due to the length of the seat. Are the standard seats shorter? She will soon be buying an A4. Any advice is appreciated

When you say, 'length of the seat', you are talking about the length of the seat bottom and not the height of the seat back. Am I correct? To my knowledge, both seat bottoms are the same length as the regular seats in the A4. Only the seat bolsters differ. Sport seats have beefier seat bolsters than the regular seats. Since A4's are plentiful and common, they can easily be found sitting in used car lots. Do a search online and look into your local Craigslist website for used A4's she can try out.

Lot of folks in here will have varying opinions about seat comfort because it (comfort) is very subjective. Best to try it out in person and be the judge of it.

My 2012 Sport seats have the short extension for better support under the thigh but I believe when not extended the seat is the same length as standard.

Yes, I believe the seat cushion is the same length. As mentioned, the sport seats can be manually extended. I find the standard seats too short for example and being able to extend the sport seats makes a big difference. My wife who is 5"1' struggles with the fixed headrest, but the length of the seat is fine. I got here a neck pillow which fixes the headrest issue.

Your wife may also wanna try to adjust the height of the seat cushion at the front and the back (it tilts). The front may be set to high for her and cutting into her blood circulation.
