Default Side mirror keeps looking down in reverse.

Does anyone know how to stop the passenger side mirror from angling downwards when you put the car in reverse?

I know some people like this for parallel parking but I like the side mirror to stay stable so I can see if I'm going to hit anything.

Default I never realized the passenger side mirror did that...

I always keep my mirror switch set to the driver's side, which also keeps the passenger side mirror from "looking down" in revserse. BTW, the middle position turns your mirror heaters on, so you're probably better off setting it to the driver's side position if you don't like the look-down feature.

Default Actually...

Don't do that on cars that has heated mirrors. If you keep the button in that position then the heating element will burn out very quickly. It is best to set it to the driver side mirror instead.

You can also adjust the position of the mirror even in the turn down position. Try adjusting it while it is turned down to your need and it will be set in that position afterward.

If the button is kept in the center position, you're saying the mirror heater will always be on? I guess I was thinking that in the center position the heating function would only turn on in conjunction with the rear window defroster. Once the left and right mirrors are set, I'm used to leaving the selector switch in the center position to avoid accidently changing their position.

So the mirror heaters will always be on if you leave it in the neutral/middle position? Are there any other "unique" technical features the car has?

Default it is not unique

the switch actually has a graph indicating that it is the position for the heated mirrors. Just that some people forget that and leave it there sometimes.

Default yes

there is a logo there indicating that it is the heated mirror setting. So leaving it there means turning it on.
