Default Standard Aux-in with iPod Adapter

Hi guys. I have a '10 Premium+ with the Audi iPod Interface which means I lose the aux-in in the center console. Is there a cable (OEM or 3rd party) that will allow me to go aux-in into the iPod Interface connector? The reason I want this is because there are times when I want to use the audio from 3rd party apps on the iPhone (e.g. Pandora). Thanks!

There's an Audi aux-in cable available that replaces the iPod cable - plugs into the same place as the iPod cable in the glove compartment.

There's also a Bluetooth adapter available (kind of pricey, IIRC) that will connect to the stereo bluetooth audi out on the iPhone.

Thanks! Yeah, it looks like the Bluetooth adapter costs around $200. Found the aux cable for $40 on ebay.

Do you have a link?

Are 2009 & 2010 AMI cables the same with Navi?

This link shows it works with the 2009 model, for $18 + $5 S&H.

As I'm sure you're aware, these cables will only play audio content with no MMI screen data or charging of the device, unlike the AMI cable in the glovebox which does all three functions. It's essentially the same as using the headphone out jack of the iPod/iPhone.

Yes, fully aware that there is no MMI function. I don't have an ipod/iphone so the included iphone cable is useless to me. I want to stream Pandora and the cheapest option is the aux cable outside of the bluetooth adapter.

I also believe you can't stream Pandora from a AMI cable connected iphone, only able to control content off the iphone's harddrive.

Was there ever a resolution to this? I'm in the same boat. '11 Premium+ with MMI 3G and am interested to know if there are other cables that work with MMI 3G, specifically aux-in.

I ended up biting the bullet and buying both the Aux-In and USB cables from my local Audi dealer (~$110 for both cables). I typically use the Aux-In for daily use and the USB for long trips (power does go through the USB so you can use bus-powered USB hard drives). As previously noted, when using the Aux-In, all navigation must be done through your attached device.

Thanks! Insanely high price to pay for a cable, but as long as it works it's worth it to me. Question, on the MMI screen what is the source name listed that allows you to select the device connected via the aux cable?
