Default Stasis swaybar 22mm vs 28mm?

I was looking to order a swaybar from stasis... I came to an order page and noticed 2 sizes.

22mm
28mm

Is the 28mm simply "stiffer"? Is there any difference between the 2? They were the same price.

28mm is going to be more race oriented. 22mm is a good way to tighten up your suspension while not overdoing it. A lot of people would probably say 28mm is just as fine too.

I've got the 28mm on mine and it's pretty stiff. Going up driveways at an angle usually results in some minor 3-wheeling action.

If you want slightly sportier handling and you don't already have the sports package or s-line package, I'd say get some coilovers or sprints + struts. It will improve the look of your car as well as the handling and should make a bigger impact than just getting sway bars.

I'm not sure if they have strut bars for the A4 B8, but those are typically cheap and an easy bolt on install.

Check with Stasis on this as the recommended bar for the A4 is now a 23mm one. The 28mm is still recommended for the S5, and I have no idea if they recommend the 22mm bar at all now.

When I spoke with them, they said that the A4 should take the 23mm bar (which was once expected to be 24mm) even with Sport suspension, S-Line or aftermarket springs. They said with coilovers a customer could go with either the 23mm or 28mm bar, as long as they realize that the larger bar is very stiff, and as Blake reported, could result in some three-wheeling.

I'm trying to organize a group buy for the 23mm bar. I'll post something on AudiWorld soon but there's a post on AudiZine in the A4 B8 forum as well. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=303892

Ya, I plan on putting in the Ohlins SL right now... also planning on doing the winter before I do suspension. Dunno yet.

I'd be in for a group buy! (try and get just B8 sway bars! :P I would probably get the 28)

Ok read that. I guess the suspension and the bar will go in at the same time. From what I read on the other thread, looks like Stasis would give me a 28mm with the Ohlins SL.
