Steering noise on tight curves

I was testing my new 2009 A4 on some winding roads, and noticed a strange noise. When powering out of a tight curve, there was a distinct "click, whir" noise that came from the steering column. Anyone else noticed it? Is it normal, or some developing fault? The car is brand new...

I have noticed the same noise and assumed it was the adaptive steering mechanism attempting to adjust itself to match the increasing speed of the car, but since you are in the middle of a turn, it waits until you are finished with the turn to adjust the steering ratio. Just my guess...
