Maybe a little harsh, but Iv'e owned a number of sets of Pirelli tires on various cars (most came with them from the factory) and I've come to the conclusion that they make a nice calendar, but little else of merit.

I've had exeedingly good luck with Bridgestone Potenzas. My wife's car has had RE960's on them for a nigh- unbelivable 60k miles before being replaced with new ones. I plan on going with the 970AS tires when my 19" pirelli tires on my A4 finally stop howling and die. (die, tires, die!)
