B8s are so vastly different from B7s that I don't think any gains seen from a CAI on that platform would be a valid indicator for B8 application.
That being said, my bro has a Carbonio CAI on his B7 avant and by far the most noticeable change is in the audio dept. Any performance gains are miniscule at best. There have been countless heated (no pun intended) debates as to whether CAIs provide any performance gains at all. Some ppl swear that they have positive effects on midrange pulls, citing that they help the engine breathe better. Others claim that OEM Audi intakes are so effective that they flow enough air even for BT setups, and have been this efficient at least for the last 10 yrs.

Back in the day, we used to cut out rougher screens and drop in foam filters, but with these more current engines I've found the intakes and OEM paper filters are quite sufficient to support a number of higher hp mods. Now, if you're going to go extreme and push over 300 whp from the 2.0T, then you might find the need for a CAI. Otherwise, it might not be worth the time, money, or hassle (not to mention potential to fail the MAFS with oil residue). Just basing this on past experiences modding customer vehicles and the results obtained. Anyhow, CAIs always do sound better than stock though...
