Either on this car or previous cars with alcantara...

I finally broke down and put the bean's carseat in the A4. She's still rear-facing in her convertible seat for another 3 weeks or so.

I put down a very soft blanket under the carseat base to keep it from marring the alcantara or leather (it was actually one of my wife's super soft chenille/microfiber throws... teehee... can't wait until she realizes)... But I'm just hoping that it works.

I also put down a blanket under the kids' seats. One reason was to protect the upholstery from any sharp edges, but the other reason was so it would catch all the leaves, grass, toys, sticks, pine cones, hair ties, barrettes, stickers, and all the other little detritus they seem to track in with them.

i recommend a seat saver to really protect your seats from impressions and random spillage.
