Okay I am new here and to the 2009 Audi Quattro 2.0 T, so please be kind. I showed my son the car and he said that the timing belts in these cars need to be changed at 60000 miles. I thought it had a timing chain - so which is it? I will get a manual soon I was just wondering if I could get a quick answer.
Thanks in advance

If your car is a convertible (cabrolet) the 2009 MY cars are built on the old chassis, and use the old engine. They have a timing belt. The belt should be changed at 110K per the Audi Maintenance Schedule.
If the 2009 car is a sedan or station wagon (Avant) the 211 Hp power plant has a timing chain. No scheduled maintenance is advised. Do follow instructions carefully regarding type of oil and filter.
This causes no end of confusion, but Audi continued to build the Cabrolet with the existing B7 chassis, and used the new chassis B8 for the sedan and wagon. The Cab got the old engine with the timing belt, whilst the new chassis got a new engine with a timing chain. Topping it off, both engines are often called 2.0 TSFI in online catalogs. When ordering parts try to use the VIN, or make sure the clerk knows what you are driving.
There is a serpentine belt (Ribbed V belt) that should be checked and replaced if necessary at 75K. I change it at 3 years just to be safe.
