After my fun and games waiting on a car and then taking delivery to find no parking sensors (front or rear) and no quattro, I've just managed to resolve how we're moving forward with my dealer.

I'll keep the current 2.0T Avant 6MT ("S-line Executive") until my new car is built. The issue was I want to get the car in September which is when we have a new registration plate number released and this will add around £500 to the residual of the car. Otherwise it would have been the beginning of August. I don't mind the extra 4 weeks wait when I have this current car to use.

I've changed colour from Meteor Grey to Aruba Blue (just coz it didn't look special enough on the grey days in the UK) and added a few little options.

I got my VIN number yesterday!!!, exciting news, the car is being produced at the moment

Does anyone knows how long do they take to manufacture whe whole car?

The dealer told me the car will be delivered at the mid of August, 2 months ahead??? WTF!!

our car is built. at the port and on ship on 6-17. ETA moved up by 5 days- 7-22.

FYI- car gets built in one day.

You guys have sooooo many options available that it is beyond insulting and into ridiculously funny! Very lucky!

Now is the dealer sure they ordered Quattro this time?

oops sorry double post :

The optional Executive Pack on the S-line adds Cruise Control and Phone Preparation. It also adds the Symphony head unit and Alcantara but I've upgraded from them.

The Tech Pack is 3G MMI plus AMI.

The Lighting pack is an interior option. If you don't spec it then you don't get a light in the glove box or footwell lights etc

The Storage pack is the underseat storage, net of the seat backs, lockable glove box and cupholders in the rear arm rest.

I want a September delivery so I'm not worried but it does appear build weeks are being pushed back. Ordering now for a late July/early August build and then add on shipping and that takes you about to September !!

Latest Update:

Today I was given my VIN meaning the car was actually built last week. It now shows in transit from factory--meaning it's on its way to the port for the trip across the pond....

I like when things go more or less according to plan--and I can't say enough good things about my dealer.

I will keep you all updated...

Woohoo! I'm excited, and its your car! I ordered my car on Monday, got a commission number too. Not sure if it means anything this early in the process though.
