Default When to chip

I got my 2011 A4 prestige 6sp manual about 2 months ago and I've got about 2500 miles on it now and I want to put the APR stage 1 ECU reflash on during the APR summer sale. I was wondering if I should wait until I have at least 5K miles on it for proper break in befor I chip. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I did mine before the 5k service. After you do you will wonder why you waited so long.

I did mine around 3.5 K and don't regret it at all. Not sure of any adverse effects it can have if put on too early - I have never heard/seen any, but I am old school so just decided to wait a little. Once I got it, I felt like I should have done it earlier - BIG difference!

Did you have any problems when you took it for the 5K service with the tune? and which tune do you have?

I just put mine back to oem mode and locked it. The tech or service rep never asked about a tune, if fact they tried to sell me a Stasis tune.

Default Performance tune

I am new to Audi. Just picked up my 2011 A4 2.0T Sline in automatic. It's sweet! Been a BMW guy for the last 10 years. Glad I made the switch. What software tuning kit are guys buying? Is this it?

Any others to look at?

Any DIY's to look at?

Thanks!

An ECU tune will transform your car.

I had the Stasis tune done at around 1000 miles. Been smiling since.. Kinda nice to not have to worry about remembering to "hide" my tune when it goes in for service.

What would happen if they had to flash your car to a newer ECU version. I'm thinking about getting the APR tune at waterfest but i'm still string to under stand the negatives.
