When should i expect my 'demo' satellite radio to stop working?
its not the 3 month trial, its a pre-sale demo thats on until the real activation takes place.
anyone else have this?

Interesting question. Just bought two new Audi's. 2009 A4 the satellite worked for about 2 hours after took delivery. 2009 TTS still playing after 3 weeks.

During Pre-Delivery Inspection
...the dealership is supposed to activate the free 3 month trial. You'll get a letter from Sirius sometime in those three months with some offers.
There is no pre-"3 month trial" activation - the radios are unactivated until the dealer starts your 3 month trial.
Dealers do have their own accounts that they can use on demo cars so it is theoretically possible - but highly unlikely - that the dealer activated your car under the demo account - in which it could go on for years...

Tip to reduce Sirius 12 month subscription cost by $33 when 3 month trial is up....
I forgot to renew my subscription by one day after the free 3 moths and when I called they offered me a 12 month sub for $116.55 (vs. $149) because I was a NEW subscriber.
Moral of the story? Don't renew. Subscribe right after the trial expires.

Hm, maybe its dealer demo mode...
He said 'want to call and activate your satelite radio?' and I said 'no I will wait' because it was a snow storm and I wanted to get out of there.
Then we sat in the car for a couple minutes so he could show me a couple of new things like the MMI and the satelite was on. He said it was some kind of 'demo' mode which is something they turn on for demo cars as you said so maybe thats what it is. He said normally that goes off after the sale is entered into the system which it was so we'll see how long it goes.

The dishonest route? unplug it wait 3 mos. Plug it back in by then...
they stop sending the cancel code and your radio is home free. Just have to unplug the antenna cables and wait.
