Default Why does the A4 have to be so slow?

I love everything else about the car, but they really underacheived on the engine. I'm in the market for a new car and the speed is the only reason I am probably not gonna buy the new A4. low 15s in the 1/4 mile??

my other choice is the mercedes c350 or the g37

I'm afraid that doesn't make sense. The A4 comes with a 3.0 V6 supercharged variant if you want speed. It has the name S4.

Underachieved?

You are the first person to say this, honestly. This motor has gotten nothing but praise from auto critics.

Take another test drive!

And put it in 'S' mode. Trust me it makes a world of difference

Or you could just be a man and get a manual transmission

Test drive them and buy whatever the hell you want. The car seemed slow on paper but fast enough in real world to me (esp with the manual transmission that I have or tiptronic in S mode). If you haven't test driven and are posting this based on what you read, you're bordering on troll territory.

I struggle to imagine how anyone could need much more power than this car has for real world use.

I haven't driven a G in a while but last time I did (G35) it flew, but so what, it looks like crap inside and out, and as I said what would you do with that extra power. Didn't even bother looking at G or C-Class when I just bought my third A4 (only looked at 3-series as a competitor).
