Why so little info on the new 2.0T engine
While I've read great reviews about the 2009 A4, 99% of the articles have been tested with the 3.2 engine. Why so little about the new 2.0T engine? I have heard that the new 2.0T is "supposed" to be superior to the 3.2
I have a new A4 on order (while not knowing the price) with the 2.0T. Will have a chance sometime, I'm told, to test drive a demo in August.

Few words from a buddy who was at the training with Audi of Canada....
The new "improved" 2.0t is much better in acceleration and, based on Audi's numbers, 15% better in fuel economy.
The FSI noise that sounded like a lawn mower (in some cases) is almost gone, especially with a warm engine. I was amazed with the acceleration. I made it a point of driving it over the 3.2 on our "city drive" portion of the training and I was able to keep up with the 3.2 version in every situation.

Thanks. Just unsure to go ahead and buy the A4 I have on order with the 2.0T or wait for a 3.2 or possibly next year for the TDI. I've never had a 4 cyl.

I've driven the 2.0TSI on the Jetta with DSG...
It's a very capable engine on the Jetta. I am not sure what the differences are between it and what's coming on the A4, but if it's the same or "better", I'd be happy with one of those!
There IS one little "weirdness" that I noticed on the 2.0TSI -- the oil filter is upside down! I can just picture the leftover oil dribbling all over the engine bay during oil changes...
We're still on our faithful '00 A4 1.8T (APR stage 1) ("hers"), and it's still running like a champ -- aside from the lame pinging off cheap CA 91octane.
I am a huge fan of the Audi/VW 4-cyl turbos. I'm likely going to wait a few more years before jumping on it though. The B5-A4 is still "like new".
A side note -- the purr of the inline 6 on the E36 M3 ("his") is a smidge nicer... :-D

They've taken care of oil dribbling being a potential problem.
It looks to be a special filter with a collar to activate/deactivate a spring loaded drain valve.
BTW the other chain driven variants of the 2.0T out (Jetta, A3, TT) do not have Valvelift (yet)and therfore 50 lb-ft less torque.
