Will TPMS sensors from A4 2005-6 work on A4 2010
I have set of wheels with sensors which Iam planning to use as
winter wheels. Will the sensors work on my current model.
I noticed that the new sensors have rubber valves. The older ones are made of an alloy/metal material.

The TPMS system used on the B8 is an indirect one that works with the ABS system.
Model year 2009 that does not have the system enabled, but has the proper ABS module can turn indirect TPMS "ON" with VagCom.

So I have to get the new sensors (2010) so they can work on my winter rims properly???

Additionally, if you're trying to use your old wheels from a '05/'06 A4, they won't work.
The hub is different for the B8 models - 66.6.

So, you're saying a 2009 might be able to utilize the indirect ABS method (no sensors required) utilizing Vag-Com, the same as a 2010. How does one determine if you have the "proper ABS module"? If it's in Vag-Com, where would one find it, what to look for and if so, how to change it?

here is a link where you can find the information:

If you are in the US and already have some kind of direct TPMS already installed, maybe it does not work, but for the Canadian 2009 A4 it works properly if you have the proper ABS module.
I went to a small shop where they service VW and Audi and asked if the had the proper Vag Com cable and I had them enable the TPMS and the remote window down and up feature with the key. It costed me 35$.
First time we entered the code on the ABS module, it gave us a "out of range value" error, but the second time it took it.
When I tested it, I did not reduce the pressure enough in the tyre and I thought that it was not working, but the tyre needs to loose about 25% of its pressure to activate the low pressure warning, it then tells you on which tyre the pressure is low. I dropped the pressure by about 8 lbs and it took a few minutes on the hiway to get the warning (about 7 miles).
Good luck.
