Looks like the diameter of the piloting diameter on the hub for the wheels grew about a 1/4". So now I can not reuse aluminum rims and winter rubber I had for my previous Audi. Add to that there are no 16" rims out there that even fit the new setup.
Has anyone ever machined the inner diameter of the aluminum wheels larger to make the fit happen?
I really do not feel like spending more money on rims and tires...not to mention I just had Tirerack deliver a set of 16" winter rubber for the wheels that no longer fit. :-/

The 16" wheel fits fine, offset is the same, bolt pattern is the same, clears the brake discs & caliperss and the shields near the brake discs....only thing that does not fit is the center hub diameter.

Have you got a drill ?
I wonder why they do this? When the A3 changed and the TT changed they changed the pcd my 2mm (IIRC). What advantage to them was there? I do wonder if it's to make wheels become out of date and hence need replacing :/
