Hello,
I am currently in the process of installing a new wheel that has shift lights on it, and they need to be connected to a wire with 12v power only when the car is on, and then they also need grounded obviously. My question is if it would be safe to tap into one of the wires that connects to the plug on the back of the airbag. I couldn’t find a diagram for what each wire is for, so I suppose I could just use a multimeter to find one with a stable 12v, and then connect to that, I was just wondering if it would be safe to do so.

Pin numbers are always stamped on the connectors. Don't know the B9 airbag harness connector offhand. Or look for the red and brown wires.

"red to brown", that's not "red or brown". Get out a meter and measure to validate. 12v is on red, ground is on brown.

it seems like the power from those two pins is always on. Maybe we aren’t waiting long enough for it to shut off after turning the ignition off? Or maybe the yellow airbag clip not being plugged in makes a difference?

Seems that the power is constantly on after waiting for a while and retesting, I don’t know that it’ll be a problem once the yellow plug on the airbag itself is plugged in, but we will see.
