VCDS 16.5.0 has no labels for the A4 8W/B9 or Q7 4M/MKII, VCP does but they are not as straight forward as VCDS labels used to be, so it's like make a change with VCP, see if it did what you wanted and then find the Byte/Bit that you actually changed.

For example, VCP lists a coding "sidemarker_via_lcm" which could mean anything and is active in NAR. Turning this off will turn off the little yellow LED in the headlights, after that is confirmed it's just figuring out that it's Byte 6 Bit 1 that has to be unchecked to turn the LED off. Knowing what to change either VCDS or VCP can be used to make that change.

Now I wish the rear LED lights would be that easy...

You probably already know this. Have you tried the codes on at stemei.de .Fahrzeugcodierungen .Codierungsservice .Webdesign - Stefan Meier - Audi A4 8W - Fahrzeug Codierungen, Webdesign ?

The needle sweep and lap timer ones look pretty cool.

Most of the stuff there is incomplete or just wrong, he mainly wants to see his coding service, but it's a good start to get an idea about what is possible.

If you come across any of the Driver assist coding I'll happily be the test mule for high beam assist or traffic sign recognition since lane assist needs extra parts those two seem like the easiest to enable and test.

There is lots of coding but no direct instructions. Some day we have to meet and compare part numbers. You can even borrow the cable but I don't think I'm ready to brick your car just yet :-)

Haha, it's just a car I am ordering my cable this week, let me know if you want any part numbers. The one I want to know but can't get to is the front camera, I cannot get the housing off, it feels like I'm going to break it every time.

VCDS or VCP? You could stop by before ordering and get the camera part number via cable, no disassembly required...

Yep, a little far for a road trip, I know. But maybe one of the PP guys here stops by some day.

'Taking one for the team' Speaking of high beam assist, does it work fairly well on the B9?
