Well if that's 9k miles in 9 months that's not really a problem, If thats 900 miles in 9 months that really is a problem. Without more information as to miles, driving style, oil used etc its going to be impossible to come to a conclusion.

It's about 3,000 miles in 9 months, light city stop and go driving with occasional freeway trips.

I just had my one year service at 9,300 miles. I purposefully checked the MMI oil gauge when I got to the dealership to drop it off and it showed my oil at the max line. I do a great deal of mixed driving, from city day to day, to 150-300 mile road trips on the highway, to jumping on 95 for a few miles to bypass driving through the city traffic.
