245/35 is the stock/standard tire on a 19" wheel. 255/35 will be about .4" wider in section width, .14" taller on each sidewall, .28" in total diameter, about .87" larger in circumference, or slightly over 1%. So your speedometer will read a little less than an mph too low.
In terms of fit, I doubt .2" in side clearance and .14" in top clearance are more than is available.
What's the wheel width/offset? That would affect side clearance.

The wider the wheel / tire, the worse it is for winter. Winter tires should be narrower, with a larger percentage of sidewall.
Sidewalls...
255*.35 = 89.25
245*.45 = 110.25
etc.

I agree that narrower is better for snow/ice. 225 or 235 on 17's would be the typical recommendation. But 255 dedicated snow tires are going to be better than 245 all-season or summers. From the siping I assume those are winter tires. I spent 10 years driving a 400hp RWD car on 245 winter tires without problem.

Those will fit. That what I am currently running on my B9 A4 for my summers. I run 245/40/R18 for my winter tires which are the OEM wheels. There is only a 1.21% difference in rolling diameter from my stock wheels which is within the 3% recommendation.
