Default A4 Drive system malfunction

My 2019 Audi A4 has shut down now for about the 6th time with violent vibrations. Last time was a few minutes ago when we turned a corner onto a street. “Drive system malfunction please contact Service” !!!. The dealer ( which is now a joke) kept the car 3 weeks and said all they found was 2 plugs loose. Have now had the car back 1 full day and same problem has the car shut down again. Audi Service text will not call or email us back and I need some advice and help to fix this car so I can sell it. Car has less than 13k miles on it . Thanks for any help Sammy

Without something like VCDS or OBDeleven so you can get a full scan of the vehicle to get the actual DTCs, it's all random guess work. As you can see, the dash info is pretty useless for actual troubleshooting. Plus you're left to the mercy of the dealership's competency and integrity without a counter tally of what issues the car is presenting.

2 loose plugs? I'd want to know exactly what plugs they were and why they became loose. And if it's the same again, why did they become loose again.

I'd stick with the current dealer so you can arrange for Lemon Law coverage, assuming you bought it new.

(Who is Audi Service text?)

the original Audi dealer (where we purchased in Mobile new) is getting the car this week. When it started acting up and quit 3 weeks ago I had Audi Care take it to Montgomery Al dealer. Have purchased several from them and had great service but, not anymore! All they told me after (3) weeks was 2 plugs were loose and they tightened them but could not find any codes. I noticed that this has happened when we set the “auto” drive selection for the handling and not any of the other settings. This is the only common theme that we have done.

"2 plugs", electrical plugs or spark plugs?
One thing to note is sometimes codes are present only while the issue is present. Once you cycle power, they can reset, and won't reappear until the trigger condition exists again.

If anything, this "drive system malfunction" is just another reason manufacturers should be banned from dash lights and meaningless error messages.

Good luck.

I'm getting the same "drive system malfunction" messages. 2017 A4 2.0 dct Quattro "Prestige" with close to 90k miles.

At first it was a rare occurrence when I would accelerate from a stop while turning right. Now it happens almost every drive. I had it scanned at an independent shop that specializes in Audis and no codes came up. I'm not sure I feel anything out of the ordinary when the warning pops up... maybe a slight hesitation? maybe a slipping clutch?

I have the same thing happening to me on my 2017 Quattro Prestige with 108k miles. It originally happened on hard accelerations, but now it’s every drive. Hoping to find some answers soon and see how much repairs will cost.

Scan for codes with VCDS. I triggered a low rpm, low throttle overboost (soft) code that triggered "drivetrain malfunction". Could be anything.

Yeh far as I understand, drivetrain malfunction is the new buzzword for the check engine light.
