That's what I was saying, it was in the thread "that I linked" in the post that I posted to this thread about the p/ns. Not this thread itself. Sorry if that was unclear.

I'd say it's an either or. It only seems a real concern if you have the 0CL; then you need the G055... MTF. The costs they charge owners for 1L bottles vs what they paid for production run volumes, maybe the cost difference didn't justify just using G055... across the board? There's so many background factors we'll never know. And then there's always the Audi "wtf" randomness. :-)

Is there anything about the rear differential i should keep in mind? is there an ability to drain and fill? Nothing on the maintenance charts talks about rear diff needing service.

Rear diff is standard open diff. Which gear oil it uses depends on if you have the 0BD rear diff for the 0CL quattro legit transmission, or the 0B0 rear diff for the 0CJ quattro ultra transmission. https://www.ilcats.ru/audi/?function...10&language=en
