I just compared the gap on the new ones to the ones that I took out. I didn't put any dielectric grease on the coil packs this time because I didn't have any handy in my tool box. If you want to you can just put a small drop just enough to cover the hole on the bottom of the coil that will slide up when you put the coil onto the plug.

As for acceleration I didn't notice any difference. Might have SLIGHTLY helped the fuel economy though. Took a trip from Toronto, CAN to Ottawa, CAN and when I refilled my distance to empty went as high as 920kms. I averaged about 6.1L/100kms driving at 120kms/hr. Total trip was 1530kms and I still have half a tank left. Went through about a tank and 1/3rd.

Did either of you check the gap prior to install (even though they are marketed as pre-gapped)? What about dielectric grease application on the coil packs prior to reinstall?
Any difference in acceleration that you can tell?
I think the Iridium spark plugs are all pre-gapped for specific applications and not allow end user adjustment due to the thin center filament.

Easy job...... until it isnt.....
Just got done doing mine..... figure I would tag onto this older thread.....
2 of the posts that hold the Ground Wire and Coil Pack gave me issues..... When I tried to loosen the nut for 2 of the Ground Wires..... the whole post would spin, so I had no way of removing the ground wire first, the top 10mm was on too tight and I had no way to hold the nut underneath to keep it from spinning...... End result - 2 broken ground wires that I had to splice on new O-Ring connectors .....

Hopefully, when I do this next time, the top 10mm will come loose on all 4 ground posts.....

Thanks for sharing your experience! Did you notice any rust on the two 10mm nut/post or just that tight from Audi assembly?

I haven't tried to get one off, but a bicycle cone wrench may be the right answer. These are a little more expensive than most, but may be useful elsewhere.
