Hi all;
I own a A4b9 1.4 TFSI since 6 months.
Yesterday a weird noise started coming from the car, probably engine.
It is like a cricket noise, speedsup with revving. I took a video of it. You have to turn the sound up to hear it.
I dont know what is it. But it does not happen in the mornings or engine cold. It starts after driving for some time, especially after a traffic.
Thanks in advance.

Oh yea. I can hear the cricket noise after I listened to it with my headphones and volume turned all the way up. The noise he mentions appears especially when the revs drop. It is less loud than the background white noise.
The noise sounds like something vibrating as the revs go up and down. No idea what it is though.
And to those (including me) who doubted what he said. His description was spot on. It actually does sound like crickets!!!!

And sad too, I think none of you have the same noise, which means I might have a problem here.
It may be from V belt pulley, Water Pump or High Pressure Fuel Pump. I dont know but I am really tired of these kind of uniqe noises and problems.
MY previous car was a q3 1.4 TFSI COD. Had a vibration noise coming from the engine while accelerating. They could not tell what it was and I did not want to see my car taken apart so I traded my car with a a4b9 from the dealer.
Later the dealer found out that the flywheel was cracked and that was the reason of the noise. But they have changed many parts while trying to find.
Now another weird noise

Problem is we don't get the 1.4tfsi in America. The only places I know where you get the 1.4tfsi is England and India.
My 2.0tfsi has been very good to me. No issues till date except for the ones with a TSB. Some others haven't been so lucky with the battery discharging fast, worn bearings or bushes, etc.
Bet, I honestly have no idea what the source of that noise is. Maybe take it to your dealer and find out. See if another 1.4tfsi has that same noise?

I already did, the dealer heard the noise himself and told me to wait until it is very distinct, so they can send a video to Audi.
In Turkey we are paying taxes extremely high for the cars. Because of this companies which can produce low cc cars sells well.
In example a4b9 1.4 TFSI design edition costs about USD 48.000 in Turkey.
If you want to buy a 2.0 TFSI, you have to pay USD 90.000.
Quite expensive here.
