I think the BG44K is actually put in by a pressurized system, the BG VIA. The Via costs about $200. The $400 for parts and labor is still a lot but not totally out of line. I have heard that the BG44K works pretty well and is good for the direct injection, but I do not have any personal experience.

"Counteroffer: if you can pull my car into service bay #1 back there and let me watch you pull the injectors out while I watch through the window, show me that they are indeed dirty/out of factory spec, and I'll pay double your quoted price for a cleaning. Hell, I'll even buy a set of new ones to keep in my home garage as spares. But if you pull them out and they're not dirty, you're letting me borrow an RS for the rest of the week while you put them back in for free. No bamboozle!"

As an aside, I had all 6 injectors removed from my /94 Acura NSX after they were in there 15 years and sent to RC Fuel Injection in CA to be cleaned and calibrated. Cost was significantly less than Audi dealer is quoting OP. After 15 years 5 of the 6 were in decent shape but not 100%. The sixth was in need of help.
Any time services up and above what is specified in the maintenance schedule in owner's manual are offered/suggested especially on a car still under warranty I am on high alert.
Best,
Jeff
