I just finished flashing 1439 to my 2017. I was hoping this would give me subwoofer control, but to my surprise, it's still missing from the sound menu. Is it missing for anyone else on 1439?

Hmm weird. According to this post (excel file), 1196 should have the subwoofer control. Also before I flashed the 1316 FW, I already have the subwoofer control. What's the MY, mfg date, and trim of your car?

I got 1422 in my early 2016 A4 B9 and I don't have the subwoofer control. I suppose the is some additional coding required to enable it even with software that should support it.

I think so too. Maybe check all the Adaptations and see if there is a subwoofer or audio channel menu that isn't enabled.
I don't think the Qualcomm based MMIs ever had the subwoofer control missing on the B&O systems. I wish someone finds this and then its similar for the *** cars and we get a subwoofer control that used to exists on the B8 *** cars.

Since he's already at 1422, I wonder if he flash to 1329. Or I wonder if one can revert back to an older FW.

I don’t think he should flash 1329 because A. That's for a Qualcomm and B. Its for the EU region.

How do you find out which version of MIB you have?

My Canadian A4 has a built date of 07/16.

The firmware is 692. It seems some cars can be flashed to get the Sub control, but the hardware needs to be able to support it?

What is shown in the System information screen for your Media Driver version number? That should give you a clue if you have the Qualcomm or the nVidia system. Then you can decide which version to load.
