So I just bought a 2016 A3 and have desperately been trying to get a map set that's newer than what it came with from the factory. AoA made it sound like I could download it after they sent me a new SIM and I'm realizing now they changed that in April and it's not on the site anymore. I don't want to call AoA for a SD card since it took me almost 3 months to get the new SIM.

As far as I can tell, the 2018/2019 update would have been the last one supported in the free updates for my car. Does anyone have a download link for that? I didn't see it in the FW repo's posted here.

Were you able to activate the S4 Style Sports mode tach on VC ? could you please share what was patched ?

The FEC patch is required to activate the S4 sport tach but it still has to be enabled with coding.

if i use the ExceptionList method or add 0060400 & 0060500 in the FECcontainer file i will be able to get the Sports mode Tach in VC?

because currently the sports mode on VC can only be coded under 100km, otherwise only S4 logo would show up with different dials, without the center dial.

for the A5 coding is in Byte 02, [17]
Variant 10 - > S5 SB
Variant 22 -> RS5 SB

Are you sure the VC doesnt need to be patched as well?

With the exception list patch you don't modify the fec container at all. Adding the new exception list file unlocks all fec codes. I don't know what's required to enable the sport tach but I do know that the fec code is required to use it.

Based on the research to enable the sports tach requires the VC to be patched on top of the Exception list patch on MIB2, however, i have not been able to successfully find the info, and the people who has the info arent sharing it..

I want to say thanks to this thread. I was able to patch and update my 2016 C7.5 A6.

(Wish I would have found it sooner.. Paid a guy oversea's to add CarPlay/Android Auto to my car)

Question though w/o the help of others that posted the maps to the shared link.. how will other North America folk get the newest maps?

There is no download link (that I've stumbled across) like they have for Europe.
