Like yourself I am going away from BMW and the technology is far ahead of BMW. The Audi is spot on and at the right price. I don't miss my M3 at all.

I've got an electroluminescent display too but it's a joke in comparison. Just red digital gauges or analog white ones. No car play- texts just don't work- you have to coax it to get an iPhone to play pandora etc . The car is slower, noisier (esp with run flats), and gas hungrier. I maxed out the Prestige (~ $50k), however to get the same options on a old-tech BMW 3 series would cost $10k more.

Of course the A4's not a convertible, but when this 3 year lease is up the S5 convertible should be new (-:

Thank you for this link. I think he saw what the guy who wrote the Motor Trend article did not. The new A4 is balanced, not soul-less. Jaynes mentioned that the other German brands try to define themselves with luxury or driving dynamics. Maybe that's what "soul" means to someone.

I've said in other posts that I had more of a love connection with my 2013 A4 than my 2017. Yet I do like the new one better. This article helped me articulate to myself what is really better about the 2017. But I agree with what Jaynes points out in his summary at the end – it does lack a little in the looks department.
