Everyone keeps throwing around the magic "<100km" number. Apparently, the VC FW can be 'set' prior to 100km. Even Yaode's ads mention "for > 100km".
The 2 questions are:
- If all VC FW have the graphic settings for other cars (e.g. the gauge backgrounds), would they also have the various menu options, including Sport Layout?
- What hardware is needed to enable this, pre 100km?

I'll try the 'vehicle variant' change before I leave the dealer, and see what it does. Can't hurt.

Does anyone know the exact Byte and bit locations for the vehicle variant setting in VCDS?
I just picked up my A5 SB. When I try using long coding for module 17, it says that it doesn't have values because the ECU is too new. If I have the Byte/bit offsets, I can code it manually.
Also, here are all of the variants I've found so far:
5 - RS5 coupe
8 - A5 coupe
10 - S5 SB
11 - A4 sedan
12 - S4 sedan
13 - RS4 sedan
14 - A4 avant
15 - S4 avant
16 - RS4 avant
17 - A4 Allroad
22 - RS5 SB
Funny that the only variant I don't have is my own car, A5 SB, since I can't read the long coding.

There is a way ho to do it, but on B9 (not B9.5) cars even with more than 100 km on it.

Looks like magic trick is Login code: 20103 before coding.

To clarify:
Using VCDS / OBD11 to change the different Virtual Cockpit layouts works for ~2021 and earlier, the older dash layouts with the fuel gauge that is physically separate from the LCD. This won't work for any newer car with the fuel gauge integrated into the LCD display. The cutoff year varies for each model, but for the A4/A5, the B9.5 has the newer virtual cockpit and won't work. For the newer cars, this doesn't even work before 100km.
I can confirm this works for our 2019 Q7, but not for the 2022 A5 Sportback (but The Boss doesn't want me to touch her Q7).![Frown](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Note: you won't get the RS single tachometer view, just the different dual-gauge or sci-fi views.
