Leasing residual value and discount
I would like to know how to calculate the leasing amount value, Audi contract is hiding this information
For example,
MSRP+option = 40,000
Discount = 4,000
Assume the residual is 50%
Calculation 1: Residual = (40,000-4,000)*0.5 = 18,000 Leasing amount = 18,000+freight+etc.
Calculation 2: Residual = 40,000*0.5 = 20,000 Leasing amount = 20,000+freight+etc - 4,000
Calculation 3: Residual = 40,000*0.5 = 20,000 Leasing amount = 20,000+freight+etc - (4,000*0.5)
For example,
MSRP+option = 40,000
Discount = 4,000
Assume the residual is 50%
Calculation 1: Residual = (40,000-4,000)*0.5 = 18,000 Leasing amount = 18,000+freight+etc.
Calculation 2: Residual = 40,000*0.5 = 20,000 Leasing amount = 20,000+freight+etc - 4,000
Calculation 3: Residual = 40,000*0.5 = 20,000 Leasing amount = 20,000+freight+etc - (4,000*0.5)

Residual is taken from MSRP on a lease, always, The discount a dealer does then finalizes your monthly payment, in conjunction with incentives (if offered), and money factor, and equity/inequity in trade/down payment (if any). A lease contract lays this all out in very defined areas
Nothing is hidden, not sure what you mean there.
