I know in the US matrix LED headlights are illegal (who cares?!?); we want that cool tech in our vehicles. With the A4 now with all LED lights are we able to convert ours to matrix LEDs with a coding change or would the whole headlight assembly have to be replaced?

The closest version we have to matrix is with the drivers assistance package with its high beam assist. I wish the US would catch up with the rest of Europe. Wonder how this will effect Audi's laser headlights for the future or any other cool things Audi has up its sleeve.

Agreed. But it is a separate headlight entirely, let alone all the extra components needed to get it working it'd cost thousands.

Not only is the headlight illegal, but if you were to retrofit it, you'd also not have a side marker led anymore either as there is no US spec matrix beam headlight assembly. So you'd be double illegal.
