In Dynamic S mode, yes, it reaches that temp easily if been driven for quite a while in local traffic. The out side temp indicates 71F so it's not winter time any more.
The oil is cooled by the coolant, so it should be at the coolant temp or higher once up to temp. The target coolant temp is 105°C+ (221°F+) for low speed / low torque scenario. The passive thermostat opens at 113°C (235°F). The active thermostat is managed to control the coolant temp between 85°C and 105°C+ based on engine speed vs output. The coolant temp matrix for the original Gen3 (B8.5):
Is that display a smooth sliding bar, or does it move in chucks?
Thanks! It's small chunks. I'd say maybe 5-8 levels between 190 and 240 deg F. It does seem a little high after looking at your chart?
I don't see it as outside spec. I could see it as being at the top end of the normal temp range. But you'd need to dig into the measuring values and log the coolant and oil temps and see how they compare over the duration of a drive and such. The pic gives us no information about the temps of the coolant and oil or the radiator fan activation or the vehicle movement for the five minutes leading up to the pic. There's also probably measuring values for that managed thermostat and other things to analyze.
