Wheel options on the 2017's are horrible
First Edition wheels are pretty bad but even the 19 inch option isn't very sporty. They should have offered the v spoke design as seen on the European models. No perforated steering wheel either.

I like the launch edition wheels. They are sporty with the black insides. The other options are ho-hum. Remember every wheel option looks better with the sport package, where the car is lowered and there is less wheel gap. Wheel gap just kills this and most other cars.

Wheels are very subjective, but for me the black painted insides is a deal breaker on any wheel design. I simply hate them. They happen to be in vogue these days but give me a classic 5- or 7-spoke wheel in all-silver and I'll be happy. The 19" sport option with a gazillion spokes is better suited to a luxury version than sport.

I agree, they are going for a design not normally used by Audi. The trend today is darker rims, with black pockets and swirly spokes. It started on the lower-end brands but caught on with the aftermarket. So Audi is thinking they need to get with the times. We Audi fans are not used to it, but I can't blame them for their choices.

This is the quintessential Audi wheel design (I may be biased):
I agree that all of the B9 wheels are awful.

Totally agree I got a first edition at the end of March and it wasn't because of the wheels lets just say that. I was hoping they would grow on me but now I'm pretty sure I will be going with some Vossen's in the near future. That are a lot of great things about the car that I love so the fact that it will need a full she'll replacement isn't the end of the world.

My dealership offered to get my rims painted silver for me, at their cost of $600. They usually charge $1,000 to have this done.
I was going to do it, but the factory 18" rims are starting to grow on me ...
