where is engine braking?

in manual mode , i lower the gear , press the gas , accelerate , get the engine
up to 4k
then i lift the pedal and expect the car to slow down , but no, it stay coasting as if
small amount of throttle was still applied.
the car takes its sweet time to decelerate slowly.
i can understand the car would do this in auto or comfort mode to
mimic automatic transmission , but in manual mode, shouldn't it behave
like a manual transmission?

My understanding is that because it's a turbo engine, it doesn't behave the same as a straight 6 engine for example, so the engine breaking is much much more gradual. May be wrong though.

but i play around more this morning, if i use Dynamic mode, the engine braking is more, but still not like a manual transmission.
i guess they program it this way to make the ride more luxury and less jerky...
