Default Would you be concerned about buying a 'dealer loaner' CPO A4?

Hello All,

I am considering joining team Audi. I have found a 2018 A4 Quattro Prem Plus, Nav/Tel Pkg, Sport Pkg, and ventilated seats that was a 'dealer loaner' car. It is being offered as a CPO with ~4000 miles. The original monroney MSRP was $50,475 and I have negotiated what I _think_ is a pretty good deal for $37K. However the dealer is 250 miles away so I won't see the car until Saturday when we are scheduled to 'close' the deal. I'm a little concerned about it being a dealer loaner car but their sales manager says it is 'pristine'. Of course he says that. Lol.

Is there anything in particular I should look for when I inspect the car?

Thanks.

Hey! I feel your curiosity. I just purchased a 2018 A4 Quattro last weekend at Palo Alto Audi. Mine was listed at 47k and I was able to walk out at 41k. Mine was a loaner and had 2,700 miles. I think our situation are very similar.

Short answer: You never know what someone has done while they were using it as a loaner.
My choice: I made sure Audi did a proper inspection before the purchase. I am trusting that it will be okay. They offered to 'certify pre-own' the vehicle for another ~$1300 but I did not bite since the miles were so low. I would surly certify a vehicle with more than 6-7k miles (and some people would say less). I did however purchase some additional protection so I have more coverage for 8 years or 80k miles.

I think you will be good with this car, but thats my opinion. Are you getting the 19" wheels (they are fantastic)?

I got a 17 CPO that was dealer loaner. I'm confident that I made a good choice. Lovely car exactly like I wanted, just 11k less than new, with a longer warranty period. What's not to like?

I did the same with a 17. Almost the very same specs as yours, and almost the same price. I've had it for six months now, and it's been a great, trouble-free car so far. The sports suspension is pretty firm, though, so be sure to drive over some potholes.

It has the standard 18" wheels. While I prefer the looks of the 10 V-spoke 19" wheels, I also prefer the 40 series tires on the 18s over the 35 series on the 19s.

Thanks for all the replies. I really hope the car is in excellent shape because I think it's a great deal.

Recently bought a CPO 17 A4 Premium with Convenience Package for 32K that was a sevice loaner with 7K miles on it in December 2017. It’s been a great experience for me so far. My first Audi car however I haven’t taken it in for service yet so we’ll see how that goes. Make sure to check carfax.

I did the same with an 18. Only in the country for three months, 1800 miles, and $11,000 off.

Do it. Don't worry about it much at all.

Well....

It was in fact pristine. I drove it home from Naples this afternoon. Started home with 4370 miles and got home with 4620. Flawless.
